Amélie songwriters Daniel Messé and Nathan Tysen joined Billboard Live in the studio to talk about some of the songs featured in the new Broadway musical. The pair was joined by the show’s leading stars Phillipa Soo and Adam Chanler-Berat, who perform “Times Are Hard For Dreamers,” “Thin Air” and “Stay”. Watch the performances in the video above.
As previously reported, the stage adaptation of the Oscar-nominated film will play its final performance May 21 at the Walter Kerr Theatre, where it will have played 27 previews and 56 regular performances at the time of closing.
Directed by Pam MacKinnon with a book by Craig Lucas and songs by Messé and Tysen, Amélie follows a Parisian woman whose boundless imagination propels her through life. In the titular role is Hamilton star and Tony nominee Soo.

In addition to Soo, the cast includes Chanler-Berat as Nino, as well as Tony Sheldon, David Andino, Randy Blair, Heath Calvert, Alison Cimmet, Savvy Crawford, Manoel Felciano, Harriett D. Foy, Alyse Alan Louis, Maria-Christina Oliveras, and Paul Whitty.
