Take a sneak peek at Laura Linney and Cynthia Nixon performing the same scene from The Little Foxes, which will officially open April 19 on Broadway. Lillian Hellman’s Southern drama is currently being revived by Manhattan Theatre Club, with the two stars alternating the roles of Regina and Birdie, appearing opposite each other at every performance.

Hellman’s play of greed and ambition, directed by Daniel Sullivan, began performances March 29 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Watch the exclusive videos below:

Completing the cast of The Little Foxes are Darren Goldstein (The Madrid), Michael McKean (All The Way), Richard Thomas (An Enemy of the People), David Alford (Nashville), Michael Benz (The Importance of Being Earnest ), Francesca Carpanini (Dead Poets Society), Caroline Stefanie Clay (Doubt), and Charles Turner (The Trip to Bountiful).

Set in Alabama in 1900, The Little Foxes follows Southern belle Regina Giddens and her scheme to outwit her husband, the man standing in the way of her profit-making dreams. “Far from a sentimental look at a bygone era,” state MTC production notes, “the play has a surprisingly timely resonance with important issues facing our country today.”
