Film & TV News Watch Late Night With Seth Meyers' Ridiculous Parody of Jesus Christ Superstar The animated musical spoof gives the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical a popsicle stick makeover.

During a recent segment on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the talk show presented a musical parody of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar.

The segment, called “Popsicle Schtick,” began as a bit between Meyers and his writers, who would present him with groan-worthy jokes tampered with flashy graphics. The animated version of Superstar—with Jesus and his disciples as popsicle sticks—is one such attempt at a save. Watch the video above.

Jesus Christ Superstar is the next musical up for the live television event treatment. Airing April 1 on NBC, the concert event stars John Legend as Jesus, Sara Bareilles as Mary Magdalene, Brandon Victor Dixon as Judas, and Alice Cooper as King Herrod.

The cast also features Ben Daniels as Pontius Pilate, Norm Lewis as Caiaphas, Jason Tam as Peter, Jin Ha as Annas, and Erik Gronwall as Simon Zealotes.
