Video Watch Hamilton’s James Monroe Iglehart Rap a Wicked Tune We challenged the Tony winner to rap ‘Popular.’ And he blew us all away.

Last week on The Broadway Cast, Playbill sat down in the podcast studio with three stars from the Broadway production of Hamilton: Mandy Gonzalez, James Monroe Iglehart, and Joanna A. Jones.

While chatting all things Hamilton and musical theatre, host Ben Cameron challenged Iglehart to rap the song “Popular” from Wicked. See how he did in the video above.

As well as playing Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, Iglehart is known for originating the role of the Genie in Disney’s Broadway staging of Aladdin—for which he won a Tony Award. He also played Bobby in Memphis and performed on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee.
