Hot off the heels of eight Tony Award nominations, the Broadway revival of Once On This Island took over the Rockefeller Center Plaza for a performance as part of The Today Show’s “Best of Broadway” week.

Broadway newcomer Kilgore earned a Tony nomination for her leading performance as Ti Moune; the production’s additional nods include Best Revival of a Musical and Best Direction of a Musical for Michael Arden.

The NBC show’s “Best of Broadway” week kicked off May 1 with a performance by The Band’s Visit. The companies of Mean Girls and SpongeBob SquarePants will head to the plaza later this week.

The Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty musical continues to play the Circle in the Square Theatre. Among those joining Kilgore and Newell in the cast are Lea Salonga, Quentin Earl Darrington, Tamyra Gray, Phillip Boykin, Isaac Powell, and Kenita R. Miller.
