International News Watch Gavin Creel and Sara Bareilles Sing ‘Bad Idea’ and More Before Waitress' West End Bow The Tony-nominated songwriter and Tony and Olivier winner performed hits in honor of the musical’s upcoming London engagement.

Tony and Olivier winner Gavin Creel also joined Bareilles on stage to sing the role of Dr. Pomatter as Bareilles stepped back into the shoes of Jenna. The two duet on “Bad Idea” and “You Matter to Me.” Bareilles then went solo on the 11 o’clock number “She Used to Be Mine" before answering audience questions. Waitress will bow at the Adelphi Theatre in the West End February 8, 2019; tickets are now on sale. Casting will be announced at a later date.

When the musical premiered, it marked the first all-female creative team on Broadway—director Diane Paulus, book writer Jessie Nelson, composer and lyricist Bareilles, and choreographer Lorin Latarro. “I brought together people who I thought were the best for the job. Guess what? They're all women,” said Paulus. Now, Waitress’ London premiere marks a similar milestone in the West End.
