On January 4, the cast of Broadway’s The Prom took to the Good Morning America stage to perform the finale from the show.

Led by Caitlin Kinnunen, Isabelle McCalla, Brooks Ashmanskas, Tony winner Beth Leavel, Christopher Sieber, Angie Schworer, Josh Lamon, and Michael Potts, the full cast of the original Broadway musical sang “It’s Time to Dance.”

Directed and choreographed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw, The Prom features a score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin with a book by Beguelin and Bob Martin, based on a concept by Jack Viertel.

The musical tells the story of Emma, an Indiana high schooler who becomes ostracized when she wants to take her girlfriend to the prom. Meanwhile, in New York, Broadway stars Dee Dee Allen (Leavel) and Barry Glickman (Ashmanskas) need to rehab their image after their show, Eleanor The Musical! closes opening night due to their narcissistic personalities. They, along with Angie (Schworer) and Trent (Sieber), decide to take up Emma's cause.

The production officially opened November 15, 2018, at the Longacre Theatre.
