Broadway favorite Mykal Kilgore just dropped this cover of Shawn Mendes’ “In My Blood.”
From the creator of pop mash-ups #HAM4BEY and #GAGA4RENT, in which singers combine the pop power of music from the like of Beyonce and Lady Gaga with showtunes from favorite musicals like Hamilton and Rent, comes a new series called #OneTake.
In the inaugural video above, Kilgore lays his own take on the Mendes song. Kilgore was last seen in Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. He has appeared on Broadway in Hair and Motown the Musical and is scheduled to perform in City Center’s upcoming presentation of Jason Robert Brown’s Songs For a New World.
The video, produced by Michael Korte, was filmed by Baxter Stapleton and features guitarist Ryan Streeter.
