Tony winner Betty Buckley recently took part in an interview for BUILD Series.

The actor and singer, who can be seen in M. Night Shyamalan's latest film Split, spoke about her newest solo recording—the critically acclaimed Story Songs—and juggling life in Texas with her stage, screen, and concert career. Buckley, who will be honored in June with the Julie Harris Award for Artistic Achievement at the 21st Annual Tony Awards Viewing Party, also took questions from the audience and discussed the actors who most inspire her, as well as the roles that she considers her master's thesis. Buckley offered singular performances in Broadway's Sunset Boulevard, Carrie, Song & Dance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, 1776, Triumph of Love, and Promises, Promises. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella in the Broadway production of Cats, and she starred on the London stage in Promises, Promises, Dear World, and Sunset Boulevard, earning an Olivier Award nomination for her work in the latter.
