Watch Andy Mientus Sing 'Valentine's Day' From The Jonathan Larson Project | Playbill

Music Video Watch Andy Mientus Sing 'Valentine's Day' From The Jonathan Larson Project Get a sneak peek of the upcoming album with the new video, featuring Mientus and the cast of the soldout Feinstein's/54 Below concert.

Just in time, Ghostlight Records releases a music video for "Valentine's Day," a track from its upcoming The Jonathan Larson Project cast album.

"‘Valentine’s Day’ was one of Jonathan Larson's favorite songs that he wrote,” explains director Jennifer Ashley Tepper in a statement. “It was thrilling to record ‘Valentine’s Day’ in the studio as Andy Mientus and the cast lent their glorious vocals to the electrifying arrangement by Charlie Rosen. We strove to channel the creative impulses Jonathan had while crafting each version of the song into our rendition, which we are excited to share now as a music video. It marks the first time that this extraordinary number has been commercially recorded.”

Recorded by the cast of the soldout Feinstein's/54 Below concert last fall, the album features previously unrecorded music by the late Rent composer, including songs from never-produced shows like 1984 and Superbia; other cut songs; and musical numbers written for theatrical revues and the radio.

The album, which will be released April 5, is now available for pre-order.

Directed and conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, with music supervision, orchestrations, and arrangements by Charlie Rosen, the recording features the talents of Nick Blaemire (tick tick… BOOM!), Lauren Marcus (Be More Chill), Andy Mientus (Spring Awakening), Krysta Rodriguez (Spring Awakening), and George Salazar (Be More Chill) as well as band members Natalie Tenenbaum (musical director), Rosen, Cody Owen Stine, Megan Talay, and Marques Walls with Danielle Gimbal as copyist.
