Before Tony winners Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth reunite on screen to host A Very Wicked Halloween, celebrating 15 years of Wicked on Broadway, Playbill offers a special glimpse at the two powerhouse leading ladies belting their signature melodies.
The duo—along with Ariana Grande, Ledisi, Adam Lambert, and Pentatonix—took the stage at the Marquis Theatre to tape the NBC concert special October 16. Packed with fans dressed in their finest Ozian garb, the event featured the performers singing some of the most beloved tunes from Stephen Schwartz’s score.
Watch a clip of Menzel, who won a Tony for her portrayal of Elphaba, sing the show’s Act 1 closer “Defying Gravity” above, and Chenoweth, who earned a Tony nomination for her work as Glinda, wow in a special rendition of her comedic “Popular.”
A Very Wicked Halloween airs Monday, October 29 at 10PM ET.
