On July 13, Bridget Hughes made her Broadway debut with a walk-on role in Waitress. The Broadway fan won the opportunity to take the stage at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre after taking part in the show’s Cast Album Karaoke series—sponsored by Playbill—in March.

Waitress’ Cast Album Karaoke series offers audience members the chance to perform their takes on songs from Sara Bareilles’ Tony-nominated score on stage following a performance, accompanied live by the house band and in the presence of a Broadway casting director.

The three-day March series was co-hosted by Playbill vlogger Tyler Mount and Waitress cast members Jeremy Morse, Eric Anderson, and Matt DeAngelis. Past events have included an appearance from Bareilles herself and an onstage marriage proposal.
