Following an extended Off-Broadway run at Second Stage Theatre last season, Harvey Fierstein’s landmark work Torch Song Trilogy will return to Broadway this fall (now titled Torch Song) for the first time since winning dual Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Actor (Fierstein) in 1982.

Michael Urie and Mercedes Ruehl, the stars of the Off-Broadway revival, will repeat their performances on Broadway when previews begin October 9 at the Hayes Theater. Urie takes on the role of Arnold, which Fierstein originated, with Ruehl as his mother—as the two wage a series of battles over the meaning of love, family, and commitment.

Fierstein, Urie, and Ruehl will join Broadway producer and President of Jujamcyn Theatres Jordan Roth December 3 at the 92Y for an intimate conversation on what Torch Song means in today’s America.

The talk will begin at 7:30 PM. For tickets, priced $35, click here.
