Film & TV News Tony Winner Denis O'Hare Joins Season 2 of Big Little Lies The American Horror Story favorite joins Meryl Streep as a new addition to the Emmy-winning HBO series.

Tony Award winner Denis O'Hare has been tapped for the second season of HBO's Big Little Lies. O'Hare will take on the new role of Ira Farber, according to Deadline, joining additional new cast members Meryl Streep and Douglas Smith for the upcoming season.

O'Hare's theatre credits include the Broadway revivals of Cabaret, Sweet Charity, and Assassins (for which he earned a Tony nomination), plus a Tony-winning turn as Mason Marzac in Take Me Out. On screen, he is known for his Emmy-nominated performances on American Horror Story and This Is Us.

Based on the best-selling book by Liane Moriarty, Big Little Lies tells the story of the seemingly perfect lives of three mothers, and the unraveling of their status quo the culminates in murder. The cast includes Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, and Laura Dern.

David E. Kelley will write all seven scripts of the new season and will executive produce along with Kidman, Witherspoon, Bruna Papandrea, Jean-Marc Vallée, Nathan Ross, Gregg Fienberg, and Andrea Arnold, who will also direct.
