Cabaret & Concert News Tony Winner Cynthia Erivo to Perform With Baltimore Symphony Orchestra The Color Purple star will headline the symphony’s September 15 gala concert.

Tony and Grammy Award-winning Color Purple star Cynthia Erivo will headline the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s 2018 Gala Concert on September 15 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.

British singer and actress Erivo, who earned the Tony and Olivier Awards for her performance as Celie in the Tony-winning 2015 revival of The Color Purple, will perform classics hits from Broadway as part of the the 8:30 PM gala concert that will be emceed by Wordsmith.

Erivo has also performed at the Kennedy Center Honors and the 2017 Grammy Awards. Erivo also stars in the upcoming films Bad Times at the El Royale and Widows, due out later this year.
