Cabaret & Concert News Tony Award-Winning Sweeney Todd Star Len Cariou Plans Concert Dates Across U.S. The veteran of Stephen Sondheim’s musicals will play dates across the country this month.

Original Tony Award-winning Sweeney Todd star Len Cariou will bring his cabaret show Broadway & the Bard to Chicago and the Bay Area this month.

Broadway & the Bard, which played an Off-Broadway run in 2016, features the A Little Night Music and Blue Bloods star performing a selection of Shakespearean monologues and classic songs from Broadway, including “Something Wonderful,” “Lucky to Be Me,” “ Love, I Hear,” and “Sometimes a Day Goes By” (from Applause, in which Cariou co-starred opposite Lauren Bacall).

Cariou will first play Chicago’s Stage 773 June 6–10 (tickets here), before playing a June 21–24 engagement at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek, California (tickets here).

A veteran of Sondheim’s work, Cariou’s stage credits also include Dance a Little Closer, Nightwatch, Copenhagen, The Dinner Party, and Proof, among many others.

Broadway & the Bard is directed by Barry Kleinbort and features music direction by Mark Janas.
