Broadway alum and Emmy nominee Tituss Burgess will star in the upcoming comedy I Hate Kids. Production, according to Deadline, will begin in July.

Burgess will play the Amazing Fabular, a self-proclaimed psychic who sets off an adventure with the 13-year-old Mason (played by Julian Feder) and his father Nick (La La Land’s Tom Everett Scott) as they search for Mason’s mother after the teen makes a surprise visit on the eve of Nick’s wedding.

The film, directed by John Asher, will feature a screenplay by Frank Dietz and Todd Traina. The cast will also include Broadway alums Bryan Batt and Joyce Bulifant.

Burgess earned Emmy nominations in 2016 and 2015 for his performance as Titus Adromedon in the Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. On Broadway, he has appeared in Guys and Dolls, The Little Mermaid, Jersey Boys, and Good Vibrations.
