Opening Night The Who’s Tommy, Starring Casey Cott, Begins Performances at The Kennedy Center The Washington, D.C., production also stars Mandy Gonzalez, Christian Borle, and Wesley Taylor.

The Kennedy Center’s production of The Who’s Tommy at Eisenhower Theatre begins performances April 24 and is scheduled to run through April 29.

Directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes, the show is a story of triumph over adversity from the point-of-view of a young man who is blind, deaf, and dumb. It is based on the The Who’s rock opera album, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Casey Cott stars as the title character, with Tony winner Christian Borle as Captain Walker, Hamilton star Mandy Gonzalez as Mrs. Walker, Manu Narayan as Uncle Ernie, Wesley Taylor as Cousin Kevin, and Kimberly Nichole as the “Acid Queen” Gypsy.

With music and lyrics by The Who’s Pete Townshend, this production features set and projection design by Paul DePoo, costume design by Andrea Hood, lighting design by Jake DeGroot, sound design by Kai Harada.

In addition to the main cast are Mykal Kilgore, Taylor Iman Jones, Olutayo Bosede, Charl Brown, Rory Donovan, Declan Fennell, Samantha Gershman, Hudson Loverro, Nick Martinez, Michael Milkanin, Trina Mills, Khori Michelle Petinaud, Tiernan Tunnicliffe, Matthew Varvar, Kaleb Wells, Sharrod Williams, and Kristin Yancy.
