Broadway Records has announced the release of the original cast recording for Max Vernon’s new musical The View UpStairs, which is currently playing a hit Off-Broadway run at The Lynn Redgrave Theater. The album is now available for pre-order and will be released August 11.

Directed by Scott Ebersold, The View UpStairs opened to positive reviews February 28. The story is inspired by one of the most significant, but rarely spoken about attacks against the LGBTQ community that took place in a New Orleans gay bar called The UpStairs Lounge. Invisible Wall Productions is behind the New York premiere, which is scheduled to play through May 21.

The cast is made up of Jeremy Pope (Invisible Thread), Taylor Frey (How to Succeed…), Nathan Lee Graham (Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Frenchie Davis (Rent), Benjamin Howes (Scandalous), Michael Longoria (Jersey Boys), Ben Mayne, Nancy Ticotin, Randy Redd (Million Dollar Quartet), Richard E. Waits, and Anthony Alfaro. James Dobinson serves as music supervisor and orchestrator.

The View UpStairs cast album will be produced by Michael Croiter and is available for pre-order at BroadwayRecords.com.
