The Skivvies Bring Sleigh My Name to California December 18 and 19 | Playbill

Cabaret & Concert News The Skivvies Bring Sleigh My Name to California December 18 and 19 The underwear-clad duo will strip down at the Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach, California.

The underwear-clad cabaret duo known as The Skivvies, consisting of actor-musicians Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, will make a special “outrageous” holiday concert appearance at the Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach, California, titled The Skivvies: Sleigh My Name, December 18 and 19 at 7:30 PM.

Molina and Cearley, who accompany their guests and themselves on cello, ukulele, glockenspiel, and melodica, are known for performing in their scanties, and often persuading their guests to shed a few layers themselves. The duo have made their mark in New York City clubs and cabarets and have begun performing around the U.S. Molina has appeared on Broadway in Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd, and Candide. Cearley has appeared in Pageant and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Click here for more information on the Skivvies.

Molina told Playbill, “We will be taking classic holiday tunes and mashing them up with pop-rock songs and more. We sing a ‘Bells Medley’ while playing handbells that combines the songs ‘Carol of the Bells,’ ‘Ring My Bell,’ ‘If I Were A Bell,’ ‘My Dingaling,’ ‘Jingle Bells,’ and ‘Silver Bells.’ We play boomwhackers—plastic tubes that sound a pitch when struck against a hard surface. While playing these, we sing a mashup of ‘Little Drummer Boy’ and ‘We Got The Beat.’ We sing a ‘Holiday Medley’ with songs like ‘Holiday Road’ and ‘Holiday’ by both Weezer and Madonna. We have a naughty original song for Hanukkah, where we show off our rapping. It’s called ‘It’s F-in Hanukkah.’”

The Skivvies’ special guests include Spider-Man Turn off the Dark star Jason Gotay (December 19 only), and, at both performances, Jason Graae (A Grand Night for Singing), Jason Feddy, and Mad TV’s Nicole Parker.

Laguna Playhouse is located at 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach, California. Tickets cost $40–$55 and can be ordered online at Lagunaplayhouse.com or by calling (949) 497-2787.
