The season begins February 6, 2018, with the premiere of Is God Is, which earned playwright Aleshea Harris the 2016 Relentless Award from the American Playwriting Foundation. The play, about twin sisters who travel from the south to the California desert in an irreverent revenge mission will run through March 11. Taibi Magar will direct.

The season continues May 29–July 1 with Jackie Sibblies Drury’s Fairview, helmed by Artistic Director Sarah Benson. The new play follows Soho Rep.’s previous staging of Sibblies Drury’s We Are Proud to Present… Here, she explores the genre of naturalistic family drama and how audiences perceive these people.

Prior to the staging of these two titles, Soho Rep. will continue its Writer/Director Lab in the fall with new co-chairs Sibblies Drury and William Burke. Additionally, the theatre company plans to expand its Studio program by promising to commission, develop, and produce at least nine new plays between 2018 and 2022 from artists including Carmelita Tropicana, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Alice Birch, Becca Blackwell, Narcissister, and Kate Tarker.
