Video The Boys in the Band’s Andrew Rannells and Matt Bomer Get ‘Uncomfortably Close’ on Watch What Happens Live The two share their favorite movies, musicals, and more in this intimate interrogation.

Tony nominee Andrew Rannells and his The Boys in the Band co-star Matt Bomer stopped by Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live June 14.

The two played Cohen’s game “Who Gon Check Me, Qs?” in which the two ask each other questions and get closer and closer with each answer. Though the temperature seemed to rise, the real revelation is that Bomer’s favorite movie is none other than Sunset Boulevard, which became the inspiration for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s eponymous musical, and Rannells’ favorite movie is Tootsie, currently being adapted into a Broadway-bound musical by recent Tony-winning composer David Yazbek.

The two are part of an all-star cast in the recent Broadway mounting of Mart Crowley’s play, directed by Joe Mantello. Produced by Ryan Murphy and David Stone, the play serves as a time capsule of gay life pre-Stonewall while echoing issues of self-criticism, sexual orientation, and identity still prevalent today. The show also stars Charlie Carver (who bartended this episode of Watch What Happens Live), Robin de Jesús, Brian Hutchison, Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Michael Benjamin Washington, and Tuc Watkins.
