The cast of The Band's Visit have been nominated for a Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Award for their performance of “Answer Me,” led by Adam Kantor, on NBC's The Today Show. The company, nominated in Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program, is the only Broadway show to be nominated in the category.

The nominated television performance (from May 1, 2018) was already a memorable one for the cast of The Band's Visit, who discovered that they had been nominated for 11 Tony Awards that same morning. Today hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie informed stars Tony Shalhoub and Katrina Lenk that they had both earned nods as the tally rolled in.

The Band's Visit won 10 of its 11 nominations, including Best Musical and for Shalhoub and Lenk's performances. The Tony-winning show will conclude its Broadway run April 7.

Emmy-nominated performers include the original Broadway company of The Band’s Visit: Katrina Lenk, Tony Shalhoub, John Cariani, Ari'el Stachel, George Abud, Etai Benson, Adam Kantor, Andrew Polk, Bill Army, Rachel Prather, Jonathan Raviv, Sharone Sayegh, Kristen Sieh, Alok Tewari, Ossama Farouk, Sam Sadigursky, Harvey Valdes, and Garo Yellin.

Joining the musical in the category are Ashley McBride for CBS This Morning Saturday, Lindsey Stirling for LIVE With Kelly and Ryan, Ben Rector for Pickler and Ben, and Adrienne and Israel Houghton for The Real.

The 46th Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be held May 3 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, with the Daytime Emmy Awards set for May 5.

Last year, Ben Platt and the cast of Dear Evan Hansen won a Daytime Emmy Award for their performance of “You Will Be Found” on NBC's Today. The Broadway revival of The Color Purple took home the award the year before as the first Broadway musical to be nominated in the category (added in 2016).

As previously announced, The Band's Visit will play its final performance at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre April 7.
