In continuing its series shining the spotlight swings and understudies, The Ensemblist presents a Black History Month tribute honoring black swings from Broadway’s Mean Girls, Waitress, and more. The popular platform welcomed Brittany Nicholas (Mean Girls), TyNia Brandon (Beautiful), Tiffany Denise Hobbs (Waitress), Michael Williams (My Fair Lady), Christine Shepard (Head Over Heels), Jody Reynard (Summer: the Donna Summer Musical), and Adam Hyndman (Once On This Island) to The Electric Room at Dream Downtown in New York City for a photoshoot, created by actor and photographer Billy Bustamante (The King & I, Miss Saigon).

“Billy Bustamante truly embodies what The Ensemblist stands for: kind artists who contain multitudes of talents. In addition to his impressive performance career, he is an acclaimed photographer. So when he came to me with the idea to create of a photo series of Broadway's swings, I was immediately excited,” Ensemblist creator Mo Brady explains.

“While our swing series will last throughout 2019, we wanted to celebrate Broadway's African-American swings this February in honor Black History Month,” Brady continues. “Anyone who loves Broadway knows that swings can be the saviors of a show. So we wanted to portray these seven actors, all who have swung on Broadway shows this season, as strong and stately. The Electric Room at Dream Downtown was a perfect backdrop to showcase these beautiful and talented performers."
