A new production of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot opened November 30 at Teatro Real in Madrid, Spain. Directed by Robert Wilson, it continues performances through December 30.

The opening night cast included Irene Theorin as Turandot, Gregory Kunde as Calaf, Yolanda Auyanet as Liù, Andrea Mastroni as Timur, Joan Martín Royo as Ping, Vicenç Esteve as Pang, and Juan Antonio Sanabria as Pong. Nicola Luisotti conducts.

The production is co-produced with the Canadian Opera Company of Toronto and the National Theatre of Lithuania.
