Sherlock's Amanda Abbington and Sunset Boulevard's Danny Mac will star in the U.K. premiere of Andrew Lippa and Brian Crawley's A Little Princess at London's Southbank Centre in May. The semi-staged London concert performance will take place May 28 and will feature the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

The one-night-only presentation will be directed by multi-Olivier winner and Tony nominee Arlene Phillips. Lippa will conduct.

Abbington, who is best known for her role in the BBC's Sherlock, will play Miss Minchin in her musical theatre debut. Mac, who currently stars as Joe in the U.K. tour of Sunset Boulevard, will play Captain Crewe.

Further casting, including the 10 child roles, will be announced at a later date.

A Little Princess, with book and lyrics by by Crawley and music by Lippa, is based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s children’s novel. It tells the story of Sara Crewe, as she is sent from her home in Africa to boarding school in London and separated from her father.
