Regional News Shakespeare & Company Casts Its 2019 Season See who’s starring in the Berkshires productions of The Waverly Gallery, Topdog/Underdog, The Children, and more.

Over Memorial Day weekend, Shakespeare & Company will launch its 2019 season on its 30-acre property in the heart of the Berkshires with Kenneth Lonergan's The Waverly Gallery. Recently seen on Broadway, the memory play will run May 23–July 14.

Tina Packer will direct a cast led by Annette Miller as Gladys Green and David Gow as Daniel Reed. Rounding out the company will be Elizabeth Aspenlieder as Ellen Fine, David Bertoldi as Don Bowman, and Michael F. Toomey as Howard Fine.

Casting for much of the season has also been announced, with Artistic Director Ally Burrows tapped to play Aufidius alongside Tony nominee John Douglas Thompson in the title role of Shakespeare's Coriolanus, directed by Daniela Varon (August 21–25); and Deaon Griffin-Pressley set to star as Booth in the Regge Life-helmed production of Suzan-Lori Parks' Topdog/Underdog (August 13–September 8).

“We are over the moon about the casts we have assembled for the upcoming shows this summer season," said Burrows in a statement. "Our artists, combined with our creative team of designers and directors, are sure to cook up some powerful productions!”
