The Who’s Roger Daltrey will be joined by the New York Pops June 17 at Forest Hills Stadium for a concert presentation of the band’s 1969 rock album Tommy. The double album spawned a 1975 movie musical adaptation, and was later transformed into a 1993 Broadway musical.

Daltrey will perform stand-outs from the rock opera, including “Pinball Wizard” and “See Me, Feel Me,” backed by The Who Band and the full NY Pops orchestra.

The engagement is part of a 12-city Tommy Orchestral Tour, which will launch June 8 at Bethel Woods—the arts center located on the former site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. Additional stops include Wolf Trapp and the Ravinia Festival.

“I’m really looking forward to singing Tommy, not only with my great backing group, but also one of the finest orchestras in the country. Pete Townshend’s rock music is particularly suited to being embellished by the sounds that an orchestra can add to the band. With the arrangements written by David Campbell, it should make a memorable night of entertainment for all those who love the arts,” Daltrey said in a statement.
