Broadway News Robyn Hurder Plays Limited Run as Broadway’s Roxie Hart in Chicago, Starting July 14 Charlotte d’Amboise and NaTasha Yvette Williams are also scheduled to return to the long-running revival.

Robyn Hurder, who has been seen on Broadway in Nice Work If You Can Get It, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Grease, steps into the role of Roxie Hart in Broadway’s Tony-winning revival of Chicago July 14–18 at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.).

Hurder succeeds Japanese actor Ryoko Yonekura, who played her final performance July 13 and will join the U.S. national touring company in Tokyo, August 2–13 at the Tokyu Theater Orb.

Broadway favorite and frequent Chicago star Charlotte d'Amboise is scheduled to return to the role of Roxie July 20. NaTasha Yvette Williams will return as Matron “Mama” Morton July 17; LaVon Fisher-Wilson plays her final performance in that role July 16.

The Broadway company currently features Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Tony Award nominee Tom Hewitt as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

With a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander and lyrics by Ebb, Chicago is now the longest-running American musical in Broadway history. Produced by Barry and Fran Weissler, the revival is the winner of six 1997 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

Directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Tony Award winner Ann Reinking, the musical features set design by John Lee Beatty, costume design by Tony Award winner William Ivey Long, lighting design by Tony Award winner Ken Billington, sound design by Scott Lehrer, and casting by Stewart/Whitley.
