The Kennedy Center's Renée Fleming Voices series will continue to celebrate a variety of vocal styles in its newly announced 2019–2020 season. The lineup includes Tony Award winner Gavin Creel (Hello, Dolly!) taking the stage October 3 and Tony nominee Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess) performing February 29, 2020.

The series will kick off September 18 with singer-songwriter Maxwell and the National Symphony Orchestra Pops. Additional artists slated to perform throughout the season include classically-trained folk singer Rhiannon Giddens, Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, jazz artist René Marie, Fado singer Mariza, and, finally, Fleming herself with the Emerson String Quartet.

Since launching in 2016, the Voices program has welcomed several theatre artist to the Washington, D.C., concert stage, including Tony winners Patina Miller, Cynthia Erivo, and Alan Cumming.

"The range of human vocal expression is virtually limitless," says Artistic Advisor at Large Fleming, who earned a Tony nomination last year for her work in Carousel and can currently be seen in Norma Jeane Baker of Troy at the newly opened The Shed. "My goal for this series is to celebrate the best singing in styles that may be familiar, and also expose audiences to types of vocal music that might be totally new to them. The common thread will be vocalism of exceptional quality or innovation."
