Birney and Houdyshell will be joined in L.A. by original Broadway company members Cassie Beck, Lauren Klein, and Sarah Steele, who will all reprise their roles; along with Nick Mills, who will play Richard, the role he understudied on Broadway (Arian Moayed will not be performing in the Los Angeles run).

Performances of The Humans will begin June 19 ahead of an official opening June 20, and are scheduled to continue through July 29.

Set over the course of a Thanksgiving evening, The Humans follows the ups, downs, and in-betweens of an American family gathered to celebrate in an apartment in lower Manhattan.

After transferring from Off-Broadway's Laura Pels Theatre, the Broadway production of The Humans began performances January 24, 2016, and officially opened February 18 at the Helen Hayes Theatre. After winning the Tony Award for Best Play, the limited engagement was extended and moved, on August 9, to the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. At the time of its closing, The Humans played 502 performances in New York.
