The world premiere of the new musical Jagged Little Pill celebrated its official opening May 24 at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The musical, helmed by Tony-winning A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, weaves the songs of Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard's Grammy-winning 1995 album (plus new material) with a book by Oscar winner Diablo Cody (Juno) to tell the story of a multi-generation, multiracial suburban family grappling with a series of disturbing events.

The cast is led by Elizabeth Stanley, Sean Allan Krill, Celia Gooding, Derek Klena, and Lauren Patten. Rounding out the ensemble are Laurel Harris, Logan Hart, Soph Menas, Nora Schell, Jane Bruce, John Cardoza, Antonio Cipriano, Kathryn Gallagher, Max Kumangai, Sean Montgomery, Whitney Sprayberry, Kei Tsuruharatani, and Ebony Williams. Yeman Josiah Brown and Kelsey Orem serve as swings.

The production features choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, music direction by Bryan Perri, sets by Riccardo Hernandez, costumes by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Jonathan Deans, and video/projection design by Finn Ross.
