The Signature Theatre Off-Broadway celebrated the opening of its revival of Boesman and Lena by legacy playwright Athol Fugard February 25. Directed by Yaël Farber, Fugard's 1969 play follows a husband and wife as they they wander the South African wastelands.
The cast is made up of Sahr Ngaujah (Broadway's upcoming Moulin Rouge!), Zainab Jah (Eclipsed, Signature’s Venus), and Thomas Silcott (Luke Cage).
Performances continue through March 17 in the Signature's Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Read reviews below.

Boesman and Lena began performances February 5.
Rounding out the creative team are scenic and costume designer Susan Hilferty, lighting designer Amith Chandrashaker, sound designer Matt Hubbs, fight director UnkleDave’s Fight-House, and dialect coach Barbara Rubin. The production stage manager is Cherie B. Tay, and casting is by Caparelliotis Casting.
