Abingdon Theatre Company currently presents the New York premiere of The Gentleman Caller by playwright Philip Dawkins.

Set in 1944, the new play imagines a seductive meeting between legendary playwrights William Inge and Tennessee Williams before their fame (the play's title is a nod to a character in Williams’ well-known play The Glass Menagerie).

Daniel K. Isaac stars as Inge with Juan Francisco Villa as Williams. Directed by Artistic Director Tony Speciale, the limited engagement is currently playing the Cherry Lane Theatre through May 26. Performances began May 5.
