St. Ann's Warehouse celebrated the official Off-Broadway opening of Enda Walsh’s play Ballyturk on January 14. The high-octane drama from the Tony-nominated Irish playwright is currently playing a limited engagement at the Brooklyn venue through January 28.

In Ballyturk, the lives of two men (simply named One and Two) unravel quickly over the course of 90 minutes. Outside the room's walls, the rural Irish town of Ballyturk may or may not exist.

Mikel Murfi, Tadhg Murphy, and Olwen Fouéré star in the American premiere, directed by Walsh. Performances began January 9.

Ballyturk is co-presented by Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival, where the play received its world premiere in 2014. The production arrives in New York City following an acclaimed run at Dublin’s Abbey Theatre in 2017.

The staging features costumes and set design by Jamie Vartan, lighting design by Adam Silverman, sound design by Helen Atkinson, and original music by Teho Teardo.

Walsh's plays include Delirium, Penelope, Chatroom, The Small Things, The Twits, Arlington, and Disco Pigs, which is currently running Off-Broadway in a 20th anniversary staging from Tara Finney Productions and Irish Repertory Theatre. He also penned the books for the Tony-winning Once and the David Bowie musical Lazarus.
