Soho Rep celebrated the world-premiere opening of Aleshea Harris’ epic new play, Is God Is, February 18. The drama sees twin sisters undertake a bloodthirsty journey from the East to the Dirty South to the California desert, all the while seeking payback for unspeakable horrors.
Leading the cast as sisters Anaia and Racine are Alfie Fuller and Dame-Jasmine Hughes. Direction is by Taibi Magar.
The Relentless Award-winning Is God Is, which has been extended due to popular demand, re-opened Soho Rep’s longtime Tribeca theatre at 46 Walker Street February 6. Originally scheduled to play through March 11, the production will now continue through March 25.
Is God Is is thewinner of the 2016 Relentless Award, established in honor of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, as well as a finalist for the 2017–18 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.
