Film & TV News Raúl Esparza Lands Role in NBC Drama Pilot The Tony nominee, who recently returned to the stage in Chess at the Kennedy Center, will co-star with Derek Luke in Suspicion.

Multiple Tony nominee Raúl Esparza, seen last month at the Kennedy Center in the concert stagings of Chess, has landed a lead role in the new NBC pilot Suspicion, according to Deadline.

Esparza, who recently departed NBC's Law & Order: SVU, will star opposite Derek Luke in the project created and written by Jessica Goldberg (The Path). The series, directed by Brad Anderson, is based on the Joseph Finder book.

Esparza is cast as millionaire Tom Canter, who loans money to Danny Goodman (Luke). Goodman is subsequently forced to become an FBI informant to protect his family.
