Tony-nominated Les Misérables star Ramin Karimloo, most recently on Broadway in Anastasia, has been cast in the BBC One series Holby City.

The West End and Broadway leading man will play the role of Kian Madani. The drama, which is set in the wards of Holby City Hospital, follows the highs and lows of the staff and patients.

Karimloo drew acclaim for creating the role of the Phantom in the 2010 London world premiere of Love Never Dies, the sequel to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s long-running hit The Phantom of the Opera; he also starred in the title role of Phantom in the West End and in the 25th anniversary concert presentation. More recent credits include the Kennedy Center production of Chess and Evita at Toyko's Theatre Orb.
