Off-Broadway's Gloria: A Life will welcome a new performer in the title role. Patricia Kalember (thirtysomething, Sisters) will play activist icon Gloria Steinem in the production, taking over for original Oscar- and Emmy-winning star Christine Lahti. She'll begin performances January 29 at the Daryl Roth Theatre.

The production, directed by Diane Paulus, is scheduled to run through March 31. Emily Mann's play celebrates the life and legacy of Steinem, with the first act exploring her personal life and activism before the second opens the floor to the audience in a "Talking Circle," inviting attendees to carry the themes into conversations of their own.

Kalember has appeared on Broadway in Don't Dress for Dinner, Losing Louie, and The Nerd, as well as Off-Broadway in The Foreigner (earning an Outer Critics Circle Award nod), Sea of Tranquility, and Y2K. Her work on the screen includes the series Sisters, thirtysomething, and Orange Is the New Black, as well as the films Signs, Run All Night, Limitless, and Rabbit Hole.

Kalember will join a cast that includes Brittany K. Allen, Joanna Glushak, Fedna Jacquet, Francesca Fernandez McKenzie, Patrena Murray, DeLanna Studi, and Liz Wisan.
