Cabaret & Concert News Original Tommy Cast Members Alice Ripley, Norm Lewis, and Cheryl Freeman to Reunite at Rockers on Broadway The November 12 benefit concert at (le) Poisson Rouge will honor original Tommy star Michael Cerveris, who made his Broadway debut with the musical in 1993.

Original cast members from the 1993 Broadway production of The Who’s Tommy, including Alice Ripley, Norm Lewis, Cheryl Freeman, Jonathan Dokuchitz, and Clarke Thorell, are set to reunite for Rockers on Broadway’s November 12 benefit concert at (le) Poisson Rouge.

This year’s concert celebrates the 25th anniversary of the rock musical’s Broadway premiere at the St. James Theatre.

Founded by Tommy cast member Donnie Kehr, Rockers on Broadway is also honoring Michael Cerveris with a Lifetime Achievement in Theatre Award this year. Cerveris earned a Tony nomination for his 1993 Broadway debut in the show’s starring role.

Also honored this year is Bad Company and Free drummer Simon Kirke.

The 8 PM concert will also include performances by Jeremy Kushnier, Jennifer Perry, Ryann Redmond, Max Sanergman, and Tony Vincent, along with the all-kid band from School of Rock, and rising stars Isabel Gottfried, and Amanda Swickle.

Proceeds benefit The PATH Fund, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and arts education programs with Broadway Bound Kids. Since the inception of Rockers in 1993 and PATH in 2007, over a half million dollars has been raised for performing arts charities.
