The Courtroom, the new site-specific production from Waterwell that offers a verbatim re-enactment of a U.S. deportation hearing, will receive an encore presentation February 19 at The Greene Space at WNYC and WQXR.

The complete original cast, led by Tony nominee Kathleen Chalfant and Tony winner Ruthie Ann Miles, will reunite for the 7 PM performance. They will be joined by Happy Anderson, Michael Braun, Hanna Cheek, Michael Bryan French, Mick Hilgers, Linda Powell, and Kristin Villanueva.

Tony-nominated playwright Arian Moayed arranged the text for The Courtroom, building the script from the verbatim court transcripts of a 2004 case where an immigrant from the Philippines on a K3 Visa faced deportation once she inadvertently registered to vote in Chicago after receiving a registration card.

Waterwell Artistic Director Lee Sunday Evans directed The Courtroom, which was created to be performed in active legal spaces. The piece had its world premiere January 23 at Fordham University School of Law.

Tickets, priced $20, can be purchased here.
