International News Original Carrie Star Linzi Hateley Will Play Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers Tour The autumn U.K. tour will kick off September 4 in Bromley.

Linzi Hateley, who starred in the title role of the Broadway production of Carrie and received an Olivier nomination for her performance as The Narrator in the London Palladium staging of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, will star in the 2018 autumn tour of Bill Kenwright's Blood Brothers.

Hateley will step into the role of Mrs. Johnstone beginning September 4 at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley.

She joins a cast that includes Sarah Jane Buckley, Sean Jones, Mark Hutchinson, Robbie Scotcher, Danielle Corlass, Tim Churchill, Graham Martin, Amy Jane Ollies, Alison Crawford, Graeme Kinniburgh, Andy Owens, and Josh Capper.

In a statement Hateley said, “Mrs. Johnstone is an iconic role that I’ve always secretly dreamed of playing. I’m thrilled to finally get the chance to fulfill a dream—and to perform it to audiences right across our country.”

Willy Russell's critically acclaimed musical has been visiting theatres across the U.K. throughout 2018. It tells the story of twin boys separated at birth—only to be reunited by a twist of fate and a mother’s haunting secret.

The tour is directed by Bob Tomson and Kenwright with designs by Andy Walmsley, sound design by Dan Samson, musical direction by Tim Whiting, and lighting design by Nick Richings.
