Off-Broadway News Off-Broadway’s Curvy Widow, Starring Nancy Opel, Sets Closing Date The autobiographical musical from Bobby Goldman will shutter at the Westside Theatre in November.

The Off-Broadway production of Curvy Widow will end its run at the Westside Theatre November 5. At the time of closing, it will have played 108 performances (plus 16 previews).

The musical stars Tony nominee Nancy Opel as Bobby Goldman, the titular widow of Follies book writer and The Lion in Winter playwright James Goldman. The play follows Goldman following the death of her husband as she braves the world of online dating in pursuit of companionship.

Goldman herself wrote the book to the show, which features a score by Drew Brody. Peter Flynn directs.

"We am profoundly grateful to our audiences for embracing Curvy and making us feel at home at The Westside Theatre," said Goldman and Brody in a joint statement. "This show has been a labor of love for the cast, crew and production team and we look forward to seeing where Curvy Widow's journey leads her next."

In addition to Opel, the cast includes Andrea Bianchi, Aisha de Haas, Elizabeth Ward Land, Ken Land, Alan Muraoka, and Chris Shyer.

Performances began at the Off-Broadway venue July 20, prior to an official opening August 3. It arrived in New York following runs at North Carolina Stage Company and the George Street Playhouse.
