Clay Roberts, who was born and raised in New Zealand and trained in Australia, will make his U.S. debut in the role of Jack Kelly in Theatre By The Sea's upcoming production of Disney's Newsies.
Directed by Richard Sabellico with musical direction by Jacob Priddy and choreography by Charlie Sutton, the production will play the Rhode Island venue July 17–August 10.
Roberts will be joined by Katie Claire McGrath as Katherine Plumber, Dean Cestari as Davey, Joseph Allen as Crutchie, Matthew Packard as Les, Patrick Boll as Joseph Pulitzer, Ebony Deloney as Medda Larkin, Thom Warren in the roles of Nunzio and Snyder, and Tom Roberts in the roles of the Mayor, Mr. Jacobi, and the Stage Manager.
Rounding out the cast are Maggie Bergman, Victoria Biro, Bryan Dougherty, Joel Douglas, Jason Haggerty, Maverick Hiu, Gabriel Kearns, Seth Lerner, Natalie Livingston, Darren McArthur, Chelsie Nectow, Eric Michael Parker, Brett Pederson, William Rivera, James Schultz, and Josh Zacher.

Newsies features a Tony-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein.
The creative team includes resident scenic designer Kyle Dixon and resident lighting designer Jose Santiago, along with costume coordinator David Cabral, sound designer Danny Erdberg, wig and hair designer Meg Kane, production stage manager John Carpentier, and assistant stage manager Logan Pratt.
Disney’s Newsies is produced for Theatre By The Sea by Owner-Producer Bill Hanney, Producing Artistic Director Kevin P. Hill, and Associate Producer Thom Warren.
