The New York City Ballet begins its fall 2017 season with a crowd favorite. On September 19, the company kicks off its two-week run of Swan Lake, set to Tschaikovsky’s memorable orchestrations. The engagement runs through October 1.

On September 28, October 4, 13, and 14, NYCB presents a program of 21st Century choreographers. On each of these evenings, audiences will witness four world premieres from choreographers Lauren Lovette, Justin Peck (who is also working on Broadway's new Carousel), Gianna Reisen, and Troy Schumacher.

The October programs will also be preceded by The Chairman Dances, set to an unused passage of Adams’ opera Nixon in China. The September 28 program is paired with the company’s annual fall gala. Each of the new works will feature collaborations between these choreographers and fashion designers.

NYCB’s annual Here/Now festival kicks off October 3 and combines “breakthrough works and recent premieres.” Peck’s sneaker ballet The Time Are Racing, received to much acclaim, and American in Paris Tony winner Christopher Wheeldon’s Polyhphonia and Liturgy are featured. Alexei Ratmansky’s Odessa rounds out the program.

The All Balanchine program plays October 5, 6, 14, and 15. Principal dancer Robert Fairchild (Tony nominee for An American in Paris) will dance in the October 15 performance. The program features George Balanchine’s Square Dance, La Valse, and Cortège Hongrois. The show will mark Fairchild's final program as a principal dancer with the company.
