The new comedy series Fam, starring Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell and Tony nominee Sheryl Lee Ralph, will make its debut on CBS January 10, 2019, at 9:30 PM ET.

The series, which also stars Nina Dobrev and Tone Bell, concerns a woman whose vision of a perfect life with her adoring fiancé and his wonderful parents is radically altered when her 16-year-old, out-of-control half-sister unexpectedly comes to live with her.

The cast also includes Odessa Adlon. Scott Ellis, as previously reported, directed the pilot.

Mitchell, who earned a Tony Award for the 2000 revival of Kiss Me, Kate, last appeared on Broadway in Shuffle Along. His recent screen credits include The Path, Mr. Robot, and Madam Secretary. He is also the recipient of the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award.

Original Dreamgirls star and Tony nominee Ralph recently played Madame Morrible in Wicked and again returned to the Broadway stage for the one-night-only 15th anniversary reunion concert of Thoroughly Modern Millie. She can be seen on the Amazon comedy One Mississippi.
