Lincoln Center Theater's revival of Falsettos, which played Broadway in fall 2016 and was subsequently nominated for five Tony Awards, will launch a national tour in winter 2019.
James Lapine and William Finn's musical will play full-week and multi-week engagements in the 2018–2019 touring season, including San Francisco's Golden Gate Theater (March 19–April 14, 2019) and stops in Dallas, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Saint Paul, Minnesota.
As previously announced, the production will also play Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles April 16–May 19. Additional cities and casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
The production, directed by Lapine, features choreography by Spencer Liff, sets by David Rockwell, costumes by Jennifer Caprio, lighting by Jeff Croiter, sound by Dan Moses Schreier, and casting by Tara Rubin Casting. The musical also features Michael Starobin’s original orchestrations.
The Broadway cast featured two-time Tony Award winner Christian Borle as Marvin, Tony nominees Stephanie J. Block, Andrew Rannells, and Brandon Uranowitz as Trina, Whizzer, and Mendel, Tracie Thoms as Dr. Charlotte, Betsy Wolfe as Cordelia, and Anthony Rosenthal as Jason.
Falsettos revolves around the life of a charming, intelligent, neurotic gay man named Marvin, his wife, lover, about-to-be-Bar-Mitzvahed son, their psychiatrist, and the lesbians next door: a Kosher caterer and doctor.
The tour is produced by Jujamcyn Theaters and NETworks Presentations.
