Tina Fey, who wrote the book for the new musical Mean Girls, sits down with Jane Pauley for an interview on CBS Sunday Morning April 8—the day the musical officially opens at the August Wilson Theatre.
Fey makes her Broadway debut with the musical after appearing in and writing the screenplay for the hit 2004 film. “I didn’t grow up in New York City. So if we came to New York to see a show and we got this real Playbill, it was just so special…I really did feel, like, a burning desire to have my name in one of those Playbills someday,” she tells Pauley.
In the upcoming interview, Fey also discusses her path to Broadway, what she was like in high school, and her life on and offstage with her husband, Jeff Richmond (who wrote the music for the show).
