Following a 2017 Off-Broadway premiere, a series of regional stagings, and a bow in Australia, the new musical The View UpStairs will make its European debut in London this summer. Performances will run July 18 through August 31 at Soho Theatre. Opening night is set for July 21.

The musical, penned by Max Vernon, takes audiences back to the UpStairs Lounge, a ‘70s gay bar in New Orleans, bringing to life some of the characters that would frequent the French Quarter space before an arson attack took the lives of 32 people.

Jonathan O’Boyle (Aspects of Love, Hair) will direct the London staging, with choreography by Fabian Aloise. Jack Maple and Brian Zellinger of Take Two Theatricals produce the new production with Ken Fakler. Casting will be announced at a later date.
