Tony Award winner and screen favorite Matthew Broderick will be part of the cast of Katrina: American Crime Story, the second season of Ryan Murphy’s FX anthology series. Broderick will play former head of Federal Emergency Management Agency Michael Brown, according to Variety.

The season will chart the effects of Hurricane Katrina, including the largely criticized lack of response and aide from the U.S. government in 2005. As previously announced, Annette Bening will also star in the series, taking on the role of Louisiana Governor Kathleen Bianco.

Broderick can currently be seen Off-Broadway in Wallace Shawn’s Evening at the Talk House. He last appeared on Broadway in Sylvia. His additional credits include Tony-winning turns in Brighton Beach Memoirs and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, as well as The Producers (both on stage and screen), Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Manchester by the Sea.

The first season of the series, People V. O.J. Simpson, won nine Emmy Awards last year. Plans are already in place for the third installment, which will star Darren Criss and explore the assassination of designer Gianni Versace. A future season will detail the events surrounding the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
